KATHLEEN FLYNN-DAPAAH

Director and Head of Cooperation for Canadian High Commission

Kathleen began her career at Canada’s International Development Research Centre in 1999 where she focused on integrating gender equality into various sectors including natural resource management, health and information and communication technologies for Development. She joined the Canadian International Development Agency in 2013 as the Team Leader for Education Specialists in the Geographic Programs Branch. During her time at headquarters, she was the director of Education, Gender-Based Violence and Child Protection from 2020 to 2022 and deputy director of Gender-Based Violence and Child Protection from 2014-2020. Prior to joining the Department, she worked as a Senior Policy Manager for First Nation Education Policy at Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada (2009-2012). From September 1999 to March 2000, she was a Research Affiliate with the University of Ghana where she undertook field research on women’s land rights in the peri-urban area of Accra.
